The Summer Reading Program will be held Thursday June 9th, at 3pm in the Junior Room of the Alpine Public Library. Kids will hear the hilarious story of “Bad Dog Marley” by New York Times bestselling author John Grogan, and “Nobody Likes Me!” by Raoul Krischanitz. Children will make dachshund flip-books and look at dog saliva under a microscope. A special guest from the Alpine Animal Control, Ms. Cody, will be on hand to discuss pet care and will bring some dogs for her presentation. This program is for children ages six and older and will last about an hour. For more information, call the library at 837-2621.

All children ages 0-5 years are invited to Toddler Time every Tuesday morning at 10am. Meet in the shady backyard for exciting learning centers and an age-appropriate story time. This program is messy, so please wear play clothes.

The Summer Reading Program will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, for children ages 6-10. Kids will hear stories about ferocious dinosaurs, play the stegosaurus stomp, make a T-Rex puppet, and look at bone cells under the microscope. This program is free and lasts about an hour.

Spanish Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, in the Children’s Room. Kids of all ages are welcome. Beginning June 9 and continuing through the summer, this program will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursdays. For more information, call the library at 837-2621.

All kids are invited to take the summer reading challenge! Pick up an excavation reading-log from the front desk of the library. For every book read, your child will receive a fossil/artifact sticker. Find all the fossils and artifacts to receive a prize at the end of the summer. Reading-logs will be available May 25. “Dig Up A Good Book” is a summer reading program for kids ages 6-10. Meet every Thursday in the Junior Room at 3:00pm for stories, reading activities, math games, science activities, craft projects, and special guests! Register your child at the front desk of the library. Free!
