Teachers!

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

The Alpine Public Library is happy to offer school visits during the months of April and May.  The purpose of a visit is to familiarize your students with the library and to promote the summer reading program.  A visit includes a library tour, story time, and a craft project.  Kids are welcome to bring their lunch to enjoy in our courtyard.

If a trip to the library is not convenient, the children’s librarian can visit your classroom instead.

To schedule a visit, please call the library at 837-2621.

New “Easy Readers” at the Library

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Do you have a child who is learning to read?  If so, try some of our new Easy Readers.

Easy Readers are simple picture books that stress both phonetic learning and sight words.  Your new reader will love the catchy stories, while enjoying the rewards of successful reading, “all by myself.”

Thanks to a grant from Dollar General over fifty new titles have been added to our collection including Bob Books for Beginning Readers, Green-Light Readers, and First Step Nonfiction.
