APL Closings

The Alpine Public Library will be closed on Thursday Feb. 26th for staff training

and

Monday March 2nd for Texas Independence Day

16 & under must have parent consent to use APL computers

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Beginning March 15, a patron must be 17 years old to use the adult computers found at the front of the library. 

 Patrons 16  years old and under may use the computer in the Junior room with their parent’s consent.  Parents are encouraged to fill out a consent form before March 15.

After March 15th no child under 17 will be alowed to use the library computers if a consent form has not been signed.

If you have any questions about the new internet user agreement for children, please contact or stop by the library.

Poetry Game For Children

All children are invited to play the poetry box game.  Here is how to play:

1. Find the poetry box located next to the puppet theater in the kid’s room.

2. Close your eyes and select a poem from the box.  This poem is yours to keep.

3. Using the provided note cards, write a poem and leave it in the box for others to enjoy.

4. Play as many times as you like.

Attention Juniors - The New Snake Books Are Here!

Are you afraid of snakes?  Do you really understand them?  In this series of twelve books, readers learn all about these mysterious reptiles.  Find out which snakes are dangerous to humans, and how to identify them.  Slither on down to the library and check out a snake book!

Pajama Story Time

Pajama Story Time will be held Saturday, February 21, at 7:00pm in the children’s room.  We will watch a puppet show entitled “Kiss the Brown Bunny,” read some stories about friendship, make a happy heart craft project, and look at healthy red cells under a microscope.  This program is for children ages 5-10 years old and will last about an hour.  Be sure to wear your pajamas!
