Times They “R” a Changing

We are pleased to announce that, as of August 1, 2007, some interesting changes will be taking place at the Alpine Public Library. The biggest one of all will be:

EVERY MONTH IS AMNESTY MONTH.

This means that we will no longer charge fines for late materials. If you still feel compelled to make compensation for late materials, please drop a small donation in our donation jar. It will be located at the Circulation Desk. Other voluntary donations will also be welcome.

To help this new arrangement to function smoothly, we will implement a new procedure for overdue materials which will be called the “Four R’s”:

Return your materials within two weeks of their due date

Or

Renew your materials for two weeks, no more than two times for books and no more than one time for movies

Or

Replace the materials, by paying the replacement cost

Or

Relinquish your library privileges.

By heeding these four simple reminders, every month will be amnesty month. For additional information on these changes and other changes we will be implementing, please visit the Alpine Public Library. Feel free to ask one of the librarians about the changes. We will also be handing out fliers explaining the changes in greater details.
